We bought three books about puberty for our 11 year old son. I will post this comment under all three books. The books are The Boy’s Body Book, Third Edition: Everything You Need to Know for Growing up YOU by Kelli Dunham, RN; The “What’s Happening to My Body?” Book for Boys. Revised Edition by Lynda Madaras with Area Madaras and It’s Perfectly Normal: Changing Bodies, Growing Up, Sex and Sexual Health (The Family Library) by Robie H. Harris.My son read all three books, so I asked him for his feedback on each book and this is what he said.He found the It’s Perfectly Normal book to be “more comic’y and less squeamish.” He found the Bird and the Bee characters thru-out the book to be “really funny.” It’s Perfectly Normal contained the most information about sexual intercourse whereas The Boy’s Body Book and What’s Happening to My Body have more about health.The What’s Happening to My Body book contained “more anatomically correct drawings.” It also has a section about being uncircumcized and how to take care of your foreskin.The Boy’s Body Book is “fine,” but “it doesn’t really talk about sex and genital changes.” It doesn’t go into as much detail as the other two books. It does however have more content on older teens, curfew, chores, siblings and divorce. It also has a brief section on what to do if someone tries to touch you inappropriately.The Boy’s Body Book also doesn’t have a section about girls’ bodies, but both What’s Happening to My Body and It’s Perfectly Normal do have sections about girls.Overall, if parents want a book that is more about emotions, then he recommends the Boy’s Body Book; and if parents want a book that is more detailed about sex and genital changes, then he recommends What’s Happening to My Body or It’s Perfectly Normal.

Love this book! It's very detailed without being too graphic. There are no actual photographs just illustrations which is nice for younger boys. My son likes it at age 9 almost 10 and there are parts we can come back to in a couple years like tips on shaving and getting his first job. There are also websites listed where boys can get more information if needed.

I got this for my ten year old son, as an introduction to the years ahead. We went through a bit of it when I gave it to him, but I'm leaving the rest to research on his own, then ask me or my husband questions if he has them. I assume he's reading it, because he came into the kitchen last week and calmly announced, "Yeah, I think I'm in the first stages of puberty."

Tells boys what to expect of their bodies without being too graphic. Talks about puberty, but also about how to eat well and exercise and proper hygeine and whatnot. Great book, along the vein of American Girls' The Care and Keeping of Me. I recommend for boys 8 and up.

I wanted a book that my son could read on his own to formulate questions on puberty. It covers the basics - wet dreams, growth spurts, etc, but doesn't talk about sex, which is perfect for my son's age. Much of the book is actually about friendship and other topics, but my son really enjoyed it. I will see him reading this book on his own.

This is about my 10th time purchasing a book from this series. I get it for all the 6th graders. As a former school nurse, I know that is the age they have a lot of curiosity/anxiety about the subject, and among the several I have bought, this is the one they seem to prefer.

Bought for a 11 year old boy for questions I was not ready to answer. After flipping through the book, some of the content - I felt for an immature child is at, was a bit to informative.. However the chapters that pertain to NOW , I had him read then we talk about it afterwards. Pretty much the book has been dissected now in a binder, the appropriate chapters to be revealed as he matures. I love the part about hygiene!!!

I bought this for my ten and twelve year old grandsons. This is a great book for boys this age. Sex education doesn't get taught in our schools until 7th grade, and this book gave them the information they needed as a prerequisite to that; namely, addressing body changes and information appropriate for middle schoolers. The kids read for half an hour before going to sleep, and this book was regularly in somebody's bed. Thank you for helping this nana deal with getting the right information to her grandsons!!

Fantastic.

I had hgh hopes for this book. The sample chapter that they allow you to read before buying caught my interest. But when the book arrived I was surprised at the small size and double-spaced text. I read the book during my one hour lunch break hoping to find something new and beneficial to my own business. There was little of that to be had. Hill's business tips are ones that apply to most any business type. One positive comment I can make s that I feel better about my pricing strategy. I expected more but received less. If you don't have a clue about running a business, this book is for you.

This is a must have if you are thinking if you are thinking of opening your own process service business!! Explains everything from the ground up, highly recommend!

This book was ordered for a college course my daughter was enrolled in. The book is required for the course and ordering from Amazon as opposed to the campus book store saved us a lot of money. My daughter thought the writing was clear and concise and easy to follow. She was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was for her to stay interested in the subject matter and not have her mind wander because she was bored with what she was reading which is often the case with college text books.

This is a great book if you already have a base of knowledge in the subject. If you are expecting to learn from this book, you will.....but you will have to do a lot of internet research to understand what they authors are talking about. The mathematical and statistical data provided in the book are particularly difficult to understand. Unless you are already very strong in mathematics, statistical probabilities and logit functions you will have to do some additional research to understand the material. The authors write with the expectation that you already understand these principles. Good book but it requires a lot of work.

This book was the cornerstone of my Masters degree curriculum. It offers two articles from each main war theory except rational choice, however the concept is in there throughout. This book is a must read for anyone who wants to ascend from arm-chair politico to an expert.
