book worked well for me

Did not come with access card!! Do not liksyen to the title.

Would not purchase again because pricing and times to be delivered were very confusing.

The worst investment I made some far. This book in no way helped me to further understand the material covered in my retail buying, and overall was a great disappointment. I wouldn't recommend spending the money. It's just not worth it, and the publisher customer service was horrible.

About the Author

Harry Gardiner is Professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin—La Crosse with degrees from American International College (BA), the University of Hawaii (MA), and the University of Manchester, England (PhD), where he met his wife, Ormsin, of Thailand. Married in both Buddhist and Christian ceremonies, he taught at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok for two years. He and his wife have four children and six grandchildren. He has engaged in training, teaching, and research in Europe, Asia, and the United States. Dr. Gardiner was a charter member of the International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology and served as president of the Society for Cross-Cultural Research. In addition to publishing articles in a wide variety of journals and participating in national and international meetings, he has co-authored a number of chapters on cross-cultural topics for other books. He enjoys watching the development of his six grandchildren as they navigate a much more culturally diversified world than he, or his children, experienced at their ages.

I rented this textbook because it was required for my human development course. I'm in a grad school program and this textbook is so basic with the information that it provides that it is basically useless. This textbook might be good for a course designed for high school or college freshman, but for anyone that has had any courses on this subject matter this book will pretty much be useless.

The book reads very well, great quality but a little bit too conversational to me- that style should appeal to many people, though, because it's lacking a boring text style.

Great book with lots of information about development.

This book is an excellent resource. It gives you an understanding of other cultures and compares in the the culture of the United States in a way that helps you to understand the differences better. If you are looking for a way to increase your understanding of other cultures I would highly recommend this book, I am using it for a class right now.
