I do research on native medicinal plants and advise people on how to cultivate them or manage wild populations. This is one of the "must have" reference books sitting on a shelf in my office. Understanding how native Americans gathered and used these plants has been very helpful to me as I work with these plants. The book is sensibly organized, well written, thorough, and enjoyable to read. If you are an herbalist who uses North American herbs, a researcher studying the medicinal benefits of these herbs, or someone interested in the historical usage of these plants, I suggest you purchase this book.

I love it. It has TONS of information on the herbs, plants, medicines, and the tribes that used them. It also tells you how they used them and what part of the plants or herbs they used. Definitely worth it.

This book has soooo much detail. Best book I've found on native remedies.

I've done all of the Charley Harper puzzles now and enjoyed them all. Pomegranate does really nice puzzles....sturdy pieces that don't warp and delaminate all over the place and have a nice 'snick' feeling when you connect the right pieces. The pieces are standard in shape (not the wonky random shapes some companies offer) and aren't oversized. My only complaint was that I had to work it sidewise since it was very long and narrow and didn't fit on my usual puzzle table. Most 1000 piece puzzles fit just fine on this table, including the other Pomegranate Charley Harper puzzles I've worked.....not this one. I buy each new Charley Harper puzzle as it is offered without pause!

I originally did a Pomegranate Artpiece puzzle at work, so I knew the puzzle pieces were thick and well-printed. I found their Charley Harper prints and I loved the vector art, so I bought this puzzle, and it was very enjoyable. The dimensions of the puzzle were a fun change to the squatter rectangles or circles that I usually do, and I loved the vectorized art in solid colors. I did this puzzle a while ago, so I don't remember how much puzzle dust there was. But the individual sections could be moved around pretty easily and stay in one piece. I'm definitely going to buy more puzzles from this brand, and if you like the art on this one, I recommend it to you!

Quite tall/long so I put it together sideways on the table so I could get at all sides easily. The pieces are sturdy. It was a bit difficult in places but I liked the challenge. The colors are great and so is the design. Would recommend.

Nice puzzle with a matte finish. Puzzle pieces come in a ziploc bag within the box. These pieces are regularly shaped so I would recommend this for somebody new to 1000 piece puzzles. The only frustrating thing with this was one piece was missing. I'm not sure if it fell on the floor and got gobbled-up by one of the dogs or if it never made it into the package. Since I don't count pieces before putting puzzles together, I can't say for certain.

I like Charley Harper's work, so I was eager to do this puzzle. The solid color birds and edges were relatively easy but then there were lots of little green leaves on black which were challenging. Good quality manufacturing; pieces fit together and hold well. Regular, square-ish pieces (as opposed to odd shapes).

Hardest puzzle I've done in my life. I loved the oblong shape. And, man, so many of the pieces ALMOST fit in several spaces -- very tricky. I will say some of the pieces weren't well cut. So, when you got "tricked" into placing a piece in the wrong spot, it's easy to damage the piece it was connected to. But, very fun -- took days and days.

I really admire Harper's interpretation of all things nature. The colors are vibrant and the birds come to life as the puzzle fits together. Even my husband enjoyed putting this together. A wonderful break from watching yet another Netflix production. Considered framing but don't think i want to invest in a frame. It'll be a nice puzzle to pass on to a friend who won't mind that it's already been 'used'

The puzzle is very pretty.. Looks just like the pictures.. The colors are bright and shapes are neat. However, it is true that some pieces fit perfectly in wrong places which can be confusing but I really did not mind this because I always take into account the colors and patterns when placing them.Also, it gave me allergies so I had to spray desinfectant to the pieces and wear a hankershief in my face to solve it. But I guess it is just me !

This story is excellent and if you have played The Witcher videogames then you will appreciate it all the more (and vice versa)I'm really just writing this review so people don't fall into the same trap that I did and skip over Swords of Destiny before reading this one. Amazon has this labelled as Book 2 and has Swords of Destiny labelled as Book 4. That is because Swords of Destiny was published later (the English version at least), but in terms of the story this is the order I would recommend reading them in: Last Wish, Swords of Destiny, Blood of Elves, Time of Contempt, Tower of Swallows, and Lady of the Lake (coming out in 2017). The Last Wish and Swords of Destiny are collections of short stories, but the rest all follow a specific story arc so it is really better to at least read the rest in the order that I mentioned. Hope that helps!

4.5/5 starsBoth as a fantasy reader and Witcher fan buy I can safely say this book is amazing.Pros.-Characters are very numerous, yet they are some of the most defined characters I've ever read in a novel.-The world the book is set in is full of wonder and mysteries-The pacing is quick and the Witcher is always on the move.-There is adult content and violence but the author doesn't go out of the way to shove it in your face like other novels I've read.Cons.-The writing style feels a little strange but that's probably because the book has been translated from another language.For people who haven't played the video game and are new to the series this book is a well paced action/adventure/even kind of drama novel that revolves around a wanderer called a Geralt of Rivia. A Witcher, or a professional monster bounty hunter who kills evil monsters(there are good monsters too!) if the price is right.For people who have played the video games, there isn't any overlap story wise(you aren't reading the video game), you will find a great deal of back story and how many of the people you meet playing as Geralt aren't just random characters thrown in by a developer but people who have a long history with the Witcher and have had purpose in Geralt's past.

Well, if you like the Witcher, you have to start somewhere. This book reads like an introduction to the later novels. There are a lot of hard-to-pronounce names dropped in unison during conventions of characters, and it's quite hard to care unless you are already familiar with the politics of the series (which should be difficult for someone actually reading this book first.)Finally, there are cases of some really bad writing style, which I know someone anonymous like myself would've gotten 2 star reviews for - like having pages of pure dialog, without any description of the scenery or actions it apparently takes place in, leaving everything to the imagination, as if we were watching a video that already provides these details for us.Still, seen as part of a whole, and if you're interested in getting acquainted with the Witcher series, you need to read Blood of Elves for the background.

I think I have to preface this review by saying that I love The Witcher games, so I might be a little biased when I say I like the books. Especially since I've already fallen in love with these characters. That being said, I think the developers did a pretty decent job at being loyal to the source material.I'm not 100% sure which order you are supposed to read these books. It's also harder because these books were originally written in Sapkowski's native language of Polish and are translated to English, so sometimes I think it takes a lot longer to be translated. Some Polish speaking fans have even just taken to translating the books themselves! But, I think you are supposed to read the two short story collections The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny before reading this novel. I think it gives you more background before reading this one.What I really like about this novel is that we get to see more of Geralt and Ciri. YAY! I love getting to see this crotchety old man really care for this strange girl that basically gets dropped into his lap. Ciri doesn't have a good relationship with her real parents, but I love the bond that she forms with Geralt. I also love when the Sorceress Triss comes to visit The Witchers at Kaer Morhen she has to explain to them that they have no idea how to raise girls!I like that we get to see Ciri spend a lot time with Yennefer. It gave me more insight in Yenn as a character. In the short story collections she's really cold and unfeeling and she messes with Geralt's feelings a lot. Although, I think she also thinks Geralt has no feelings so she treats him like this as a way to protect herself. When Yenn is teaching Ciri about magic, there's a really strong bond between them. I loved the teasing relationship between them.Although I loved how Sapkowski builds the foundation for this found family, there were a few things about this novel that I just couldn't get into. First of all, I'm not a fan of really long chapters, and this book had very long chapters! Maybe this was just because it's a translation, but I would have liked it to be broken up a little more. Another thing that bothered me was a chapter when all the Kings get together to talk about if Ciri is still alive. Like Geralt, I don't care about politics so I found this chapter SUPER boring!

This book was unexpected. It has all the trappings of high-fantasy - elves, dwarves , dragons, wizards, lost princesses - but it also has depth and intelligence. The characters are surprisingly real, with flaws and hopes that draw the reader in. Sapkowski gives us heroes we can identify with, heroes we want to root for. The villains are fleshed out and believable. The tone is tounge-in-cheek, but direct. I highly recommend Blood of Elves. People who like Michael Swanwick, Andy Remic, and Roger Zelazney will be well satisfied. You should read The Last Wish first, though. The stories in that collection set up this series. Not necessary, but recommended.

Hard copy is excellent, digital copy is horribly formatted.Have not dived into this book academically but soon will, did not want to to degrade its review (stars) but upon reviewing the digital copy (7 day kindle trial), and noticed the formatting its HORRIBLE. Its not a 1 to 1 translation, but a butchered book were a single image takes up a whole page, a few paragraphs on single page etc.Save your money and do not buy the digital version.

As I travel down the path of manual therapy certification, this has added significant benefit, as a point of reference. If i have felt my manual I received in my courses, wasn't suffice, this book has assisted to clarify things. The outline and layout of the chapter is good and attempts to incorporate the APTA Practice Patterns to addressing certain dysfunctions. Very evidence based and a good, thorough reference for any PT! I have the hard copy.

Do not get the kindle (e-book) version of this text as it is not a print replica and very frustrating to read on your device.

Book is full of information on Lionels HO production from 1974-1977, Author goes into a lot of detail about the production and information on them. Price guide is out of date but is a good starting point to see what is rare vs common. Most of the trains talked about in the book are pictured in the book.

I just love these Greenberg books! I'm not much of a HO train person, but I received a large box of HOs', and needed information so I could clean them up and sell them, I did not care if the prices were not current in the (Greenberg's Guide to Lionel Ho Trains) Lionel Ho, Vol. 2: 1974-1977 by George J. Horan. I was looking for that, I just wanted to be sure that the engins and rolling stock I am going to sell is correct. I bought two other Greenberg HO books: Greenberg's Guide to Lionel Ho Trains Greenberg's Guide to Lionel Ho Trains by Vincent Rosa, and (Greenberg's Guide to Lionel Ho Trains) 1957-1966 by George J. Horan also great information.

I felt like she was telling my story through Layla and Malik. It was touching to read this muslim fiction and feel so close to it. It is one of the best books i have read so far and i suggest you guys start one clicking today!! I am an avid reader of all genres. My expectations of this author was high based off of the good writing of her urban fiction stories. Author Zara J. met my expectations and has earned my high anticipation for what she has to offer in the future. The story made me laugh, frown, shake my head, and relate to certain issues. Subhan'Allah, Dowry Divas was a fantastic read! I loved following these three women in their quests for love. Honest and entertaining, Dowry Divas takes one through all of the highs and lows of looking for and being in a relationship. the plot twists made me gasp, the honest moments made me laugh, and the beautiful moments made my heart smile. I recommend this book for anyone looking for a entertaining and heartwarming read.

It has everything I was looking for. Real Life drama, Romance, marriage woes, and pace. I really enjoyed Malik and Layla, Talia's ending is very realistic, and Nadia ending was just beautiful. At first I didn't like the character separation it eventually appreciated it since each character had a lot going on in their worlds.
