Wow. Love the music. Have owned several copies before, but they are inevitably loaned out to students. This copy says Hal Leonard, not the original publisher - I guess they bought that company. However, the printing on the inside is on par of what one gets from IMSLP scanned and printed. The net result is that the music is rather difficult to read. Makes me wonder if the copy I got is counterfeit, or if Hal Leonard isn't using the original printing plates -- having scanned them in and then printing from a less than perfect digital copy. The staff lines are visibly rough, not smooth. Notes seem to blur together. On one page, the double bar itself is blotchy as if a printer was running out of ink. The other Classics to Modern I have from the original publisher are VERY clean printing. Will see if I can locate an old "Easy Classics to Modern" to confirm my believe that this the Hal Leonard printing is majorly subpar to what I remember from the prior publisher. If so, I'll be returning this one and only purchasing used copies.

If you're looking for more of interest than is found in your piano course books (such as the Alfred's course), this will provide that variety. Most of the arrangements are in "easy keys", but not all, giving you room for advancement, and new songs to play as you become a better pianist.

This is a great selection of music that spans several levels of difficulty beginning with just a little more than beginning level to grade 2 or 3. It helps pianists, especially young pianists, get a feel for the styles of a number of different composers. I've found that quite a few of the selection appear in different method books, so it's nice for the students to see that they're actually playing "real" music.

Had volume 27 years ago when I last took lessons and enjoyed it. When I took playing back up I rebought volume 27 and love it so much that I purchased this volume as well. They are both wonderful to play. The songs are not rearranged to be easier; they are original to how they were written but are easier pieces. For reference, I took lessons on and off for maybe a total of 3 years, between 20 and 10 years ago. These pieces are easy enough for me to master after putting in ample practice but not easy enough to plop right down and play. Just the right amount of challenging!

This replaces an old one that just wore out from many pianists in my home. So glad to get my own copy so I can write my notes on the pages and not deal anymore with torn or loose pages. Love this book! Oh, it's not "easy." It's for an Intermediate, not a beginning. It is not "easy piano."

It has a variety of songs and I feel they are the right length to hold the student's interest but still being challenging enough to continue learning. I bought this book to replace the one that is 25 years old. I did have it rebound with spiral binding that makes a huge difference in how it lays and probably how it will age too.

I am a piano teacher and LOVE this series! Perfect for beginning 4-6 year olds. Children love following the stories of Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse and all their friends, and all the information is presented clearly and at a good pace. I recommend buying the little toys that come with the series, since they help children understand concepts such as high and low. This book, along with the Lesson and Workbook, is the perfect way to start off young musicians!

I bought this book to use with a 5-year-old piano student of mine. I had started her in the Alfred Basic Prep Level A, which is where I would normally start a kindergarten student. She was instantly taken with the characters. I used the lesson book and this workbook, and she started to make great progress.Sometimes "theory" can be tough for students to complete. This book has lots of color-by-note and other activities that don't seem like such tough work. (What kid doesn't enjoy coloring?) I think of this more like the Notespeller books from the Prep and Basic series, rather than the Theory books. At any rate, she didn't object to doing any of the activities, so that's good.

If I had realized that this book was only 8 pages I probably wouldn’t have purchased it, even for $3. I love a the Music for Little Mozart’s series. But with this one, I was disappointed. Also I received a damaged copy. The back had several creases.This experience hasn’t ruined the series for me, but it definitely left a negative impression.

This eight page booklet includes a Halloween-themed story about Beethoven Bear and a surprise from Professor Haydn Hippo. This booklet is a supplement to the purple (third) level of Music for Little Mozarts piano series for children."A Special Invitation" is written in C Position and includes simple chords for the left hand. A duet part for the teacher is included."Halloween Parade Song" is also written in C Position, but includes several flats (E and B). Again, a duet part is included for the teacher.The middle two pages of the booklet are exercises for the student to complete. One exercise involves matching intervals, and the other exercise is coloring notes on the staff.If your child is working through the Little Mozarts series, this is a fun add-on, but not an essential to completing the series. It's a good booklet for a one-off lesson, or just a fun break from the normal exercises. This would also work for a fall recital exercise.

In Alfred's Music for Little Mozarts, students follow their friends Mozarts Mouse and Beethoven Bear in exploration of musical sounds and concepts as they learn to play piano. The workbook has written and listening exercises to strengthen young students' aural skills. There is actually only one coloring assignment, which is to color Mozart Mouse and Beethoven Bear at the beginning of the book. This can be done for homework if instructors do not want to use up valuable lesson time coloring.The exercises in the workbook are fun and easy and correspond to exercises in the Little Mozarts lesson book. I recommend using the workbook along with the lesson book, discovery book and flash cards. Great beginner books for 5 year olds. Very slow and easy introduction to piano. Has short stories and coloring pages. Perfect for little ones. Bought the other 2 set of books too

My daughter started her piano lessons around 3 1/2. These books are perfect for little ones just learning how to play the piano.

We just enrolled our 4 year old in private piano lessons and this is the book the teacher uses. The teacher already had Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse. What a great idea to keep little kids interested and help to have fun while learning! So far our daughter loves it.
