Artemas' story was funny and engaging. As the eldest known child of Poseidon his life was not easy or that happy. He has always felt less, unseen by those who were supposed to love him. So when he learns that he was gifted with a mate, his old insecurities rise up to the surface. Despite his sometimes standoffish attitude Artemas is a very caring person, he just hides it well. I loved how finally Artemas found his self confidence, how he stood up for himself. He has so much love to give, and his mate shows him that it's alright to let go.Silvanus is as old as time. He wished for a mate and children, and when he meets Artemas he is overjoyed. But he puts his foot in his mouth way too many times. It's so sweet when he tries to figure out how to make amends, how patient and romantic he is while guessing what will make Artemas happy. Both gods fit so seamlessly together. At times Silvanus was the voice of reason and strength, at times he was just a man trying to make his mate happy and not a god.I was pretty sure who the villain was. I was happy how the book ended - Artemas might be a scholar but when the situation calls for it he can be a fierce warrior! I liked this balance between Artemas' gentle kindness and power of a god commanding Poseidon's waters. I loved all the side characters, and Thor was hilarious in the end. I loved the choices Artemas made, and how supportive and understanding Silvanus was. Another wonderful book from Lisa! I highly recommend it!
I always eagerly anticipate any book by this author and this one was no exception. I absolutely love this series and the connect Cloverleah series. Each one in both series have been amazing and fantastic reads. Full of world building, love, hot scences, action, and emotion. I have absolutely loved every single one. But this book took me by surprise. Artemas had so much more to him than we had seen in previous books. I had tears in my eyes a certain points and was so proud of him in others. Artemas and his past, how Silvanus love gave him courage and helped see his self worth was an absolutely beautiful and breathtaking journey to read. And somehow out of nowhere a character that hadnt left much of an impression on me became my favorite by this author. In my opinion this has been the best book by Oliver so far. And only cemented her status as one of my favorite authors. I absolutely reccomend this read and eagerly anticipate the next.
4 âï¸If you enjoy Lisa Oliver books you will enjoy this one too. It’s a great addition to the series. It took me a while but I really liked Artie. He had been through years of feeling unwanted and once he decided enough was enough he stood up for himself, even to the fates themselves. I liked Silva as well, but as he was such a calm presence I kind of feel like I don’t know him as well. They were in the end well matched.I liked that the fact that Artie didn’t want kids was used as a storyline and as a discussion point between the two. It seems like in romancia land that is one of main goals, and there are people who just don’t want kids, so it was good to see them represented to an extent here. Yes they probably will have kids at some point but I’m glad they get to choose when.There are so many characters I want to see next I don’t know who to wish for, but I kind of hope Hades or Ra is next
So much fun & so many feels. This is the story of Poseidon's son Artemas & an original god, Silvanus. Artemas raised his 3 half brothers abandoned in Poseidon's domain while Poseidon ignored them just as he had ignored Artemas.Silvanus, weary & mired in despair, was promised a mate by The Three Fates & oh, boy, did they ever pick the best mate ever for him. Artemas, aloof & standoffish due to unresolved father issues needed a patient, wise, ever so loving mate. They are the perfect mating.I don't like to rehash plot points so I will say that I See you is so well written, full of vivid characterizations, reunions of family & friends, and best of, the introduction of new characters to continue this wonderful series.Buy this book because it's fun, full of emotion, and the scenes with pregnant Thor, oh, my stars, the giggles abound!
