These cards are great and very informative. I love that the most "essential" information about each drug is bolded which makes it easier for fast studying and cramming. The vignettes are made very obvious which is, in my opinion, a great thing as it helps you remember the drug even better.But there are two flaws I can think of that you may want to consider before buying.First, these are not hole-punched so you may want to do that first unless you want to risk these flying all over the place. That wouldn't be an issue if they were color-coded by category of drug, but other than the card number shown at the bottom of each card, there's no quick way to organize these at a glance.Second, the very obvious card number at the bottom might be an issue for you if you are a very visual-recall type of learner like I am, as you will likely start to associate the number of the card with the information about the drug as opposed to just the drug. It's not in a location that's easy to cover with your thumb - instead it's right smack dab in the middle of the card at the bottom.
I'm a 2nd year med student aiming for good grades in class and a killer board score. Here's what I like and don't like about this product:PROS: I do enjoy having "Everything you need to know about a drug one convenient card!". I also love that these are the same thickness as regular paper, not bulky/heavy cardstock like many other pharm decks out there. My backpack is heavy enough already. The organization of this deck is also pretty stellar.CONS: I wish that instead of having one card for each drug CLASS, they would expand the deck into a card for each DRUG (some classes of drug have a dozen individual drugs within them with slightly different uses and AEs. I thought that these would be helpful for quizzing and reviewing, but ultimately I just use them as a study aid the same way I use class notes and textbooks. I've found a few typos already and I'm only about 1/5th of the way through my deck--would have expected better proofreading from McGraw Hill/Lange.
The flashcard content is excellent. However, the Kindle edition does not provide for self study (testing yourself as if they were flashcards). The continuous format will show half of the reverse side of the card on the same page as the front side. Kindle has no fix for this. If you are deciding between the kindle or print version, I would highly recommend the print version...
Wish they had more than one case on the front. Maybe in smaller font in different colors to distinguish each case from the other. You eventually know the med from seeing the same case
These are excellent cards! They have color photos and diagrams, and are grouped nicely. They also have a hole punch in the top corner, so you can keep them on a ring, or break them down into smaller groups for rings. The information on the card is very useful. I am using these to study with my pharmacology sets.
Lovely cards! I wish they were hold punched or something with a binder ring, so I’ll have to DIY that lol! But I love the format! Much better for testing myself rather than having a summary card. Case on the front, the answer + info on the back. Thank you!
Great study aid for pharmacology. The clinical vignette helped with recognizing clinical scenarios. I recommend highlighting and underlining things as your courses require.
The cards are case based, but the cases sometimes don't seem very thoughtful or specific.
